A Visit to the American Museum of Natural History

December 13th and 20th found BNS kindergarteners at the American Museum of Natural History for a tour of their Unseen Oceans exhibit, a fascinating look at life deep in the oceans of the world. The interactive exhibits included a virtual trip through the ocean depths that brought some of the giants of the sea up close and personal. Kids were also able to create a topographical map of the sea bed using kinetic sand, operate the controls of a mini-sub, look through microscopes at tiny plankton, view deep-sea creatures in ultraviolet light, and chase projections of schools of fish across the museum floor. Back at school, the children had lots of questions to propel them on their research into sea animals.
