Impressions of Forest and Shore in Clay

In the classrooms we have been working on representing the forest and salt marsh in clay. Children work individually and in groups to revisit their trips via the imagination. As the clay takes shape, children lose themselves in a fantasy of being being back in nature. They become birds, worms, trees, or monsters and elaborate stories emerge. We may use photos in books to help with representations, but it is the imagination that propels kids into a world of their own making. Take a journey to that world through the photos below!
