At the Staten Island Aquarium

On April 11, Kindergarteners got up close and personal with fish and other sea creatures at the Staten Island Aquarium. Many of the exhibits centered on local marine life, giving children a chance to imagine the underwater world of Marine Park Salt Marsh. The horseshoe crabs were especially fun to watch as you could see underneath their shells to observe how they use their legs and claws. The children's drawings revealed a high level of detail as they noted the shapes of fins, tails, gills and scales on the many fish swimming all around them.
